A nationally recognized thought leader in commercial equipment finance, Buddy established CFP in 2012 with the mission to provide responsible, growth-oriented funding solutions for businesses across diverse industries—including healthcare, manufacturing, construction, aviation, agriculture, and transportation.
With over two decades of industry experience, Buddy has led CFP to finance projects ranging from $250,000 to over $100 million, with more than 40% of transactions coming from repeat clients. Under his leadership, CFP has funded over $100 million annually, delivering tailored capital solutions and fostering lasting client relationships through innovative deal-making and a digital-first model. His expertise spans complex credit structuring, progress funding, sale-leasebacks, tax-optimized operating leases, and 100% project financing—often stepping in when traditional lenders cannot meet clients’ needs. Buddy also spearheaded the strategic acquisition of EquipmentLeases.com, further enhancing client access and operational efficiency.
Buddy’s career began at IBM, where he gained valuable insights into technology and business systems. He later became the manager and co-owner of Plumbers Supply Company, which he successfully expanded prior to its acquisition by Wolseley Company, a global distributor. At Wolseley, Buddy held key roles in business development, branch growth, and market expansion, sharpening his expertise in scaling operations.
Buddy is an active industry leader, serving on the Equipment Leasing & Finance Association (ELFA) Independent Lessor Steering Committee and participating in ELFA’s Political Action Committee. He is a member of both the National Equipment Finance Association (NEFA) and the American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (AACFB), where he chaired the Education Committee for four years and received the AACFB President’s Award. He is a frequent industry speaker and a published contributor to leading trade publications.
Buddy holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Utah and an MBA from Westminster College (Utah). Residing in Utah with his wife, five children, and grandchildren, Buddy is an avid skier, squash player, mountain biker, open-water swimmer, and reader.
